This Privacy Policy explains how Juni AI collects, uses, and protects information for parents and children.

1. Who We Are

Juni AI is an iPhone learning app for children ages 6-12, managed by parents or legal guardians.

2. Parent-Managed Accounts

Juni AI is designed for children under parental supervision. All accounts must be created and managed by a parent or legal guardian. Children do not create accounts independently.

3. Information We Collect

We may collect the following information:

• Parent email address for account creation, login, transactional communication, and support
• Optional parent display name or first name
• Child profile data entered by the parent, such as child's first name or display name, age, grade level, and learning preferences
• App usage data, including lesson sessions, answers, mastery scores, stars earned, streak count, and daily challenge completion
• Subscription status and entitlement data through RevenueCat and Apple In-App Purchase
• Device push token used for app functionality and notifications

4. Information We Do Not Collect

• No child's email address
• No photos or camera access
• No location data
• No microphone access
• No device contacts
• No biometric data
• No advertising identifier for tracking
• No behavioral tracking for advertising

5. How We Collect Information

We collect information directly from parent input during signup, onboarding, child profile creation, and support requests. We also collect limited information automatically through app usage to provide the service and track learning progress.

6. How We Use Information

We use collected information to:

• Provide and operate Juni AI
• Create and manage parent accounts and child profiles
• Generate adaptive educational lessons and grade responses
• Track mastery, stars, streaks, and learning progress
• Send OTP verification emails, password reset emails, and weekly parent summaries
• Manage subscriptions and entitlement access
• Improve app functionality and reliability

7. Children's Privacy

Juni AI is intended for parents or legal guardians of children ages 6-12. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without parental involvement. All child information is entered and managed by the parent.

8. COPPA

Children under 13 do not create accounts in Juni AI. All data collection occurs through the parent account. We do not use children's data for behavioral advertising, and we do not include third-party analytics SDKs on child-facing screens.

9. Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party services to operate Juni AI:

• Supabase - backend database and authentication
• OpenAI (gpt-4.1-mini) - lesson generation and answer grading, without sending personally identifiable child data
• RevenueCat - subscription management and entitlement verification
• Resend - transactional email delivery, such as OTP and weekly summaries
• Expo / EAS - app build services and push notification functionality

We do not use advertising SDKs, third-party analytics SDKs, or behavioral advertising tools.

10. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. Data is only shared with service providers as necessary to operate Juni AI.

11. Data Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to provide the service, maintain subscription access, support app functionality, comply with legal obligations, and respond to support or deletion requests.

12. User Rights

Parents or legal guardians may request access to, correction of, or deletion of account and child profile data by contacting support@juniai.app.

13. Account and Data Deletion

Parents may delete a child profile from within the app. Parents may also request deletion of their account and associated data by emailing support@juniai.app.

14. GDPR

For users in the EU and UK, Juni AI processes personal data based on contract, subscription fulfillment, and legitimate interests related to app functionality. Parents may request erasure of personal data by contacting us.

15. Security

We use industry-standard technical and organizational safeguards to protect personal information from unauthorized access, misuse, or disclosure.

16. Cookies

Our website does not rely on advertising or behavioral tracking cookies. If website technologies change in the future, this policy will be updated accordingly.

17. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any updates will be reflected on this page with a revised last updated date.
